Columbia police arrest man accused of pretending to shoot officer

Columbia police arrested Otis Campbell on Monday night after he threatened an officer.

Police said they were on a call in the 1100 block of Wilkes Boulevard when Campbell approached an officer’s patrol vehicle, raised his arms as if he was holding a gun and said, “pow, pow, pow.”

Officers attempted to make contact with Campbell but he started running and a foot pursuit began. Campbell was later caught in the 1400 block of Wilkes Boulevard.

Campbell faces possible charges of fourth degree assault and resisting or interfering with an arrest.
