Firefighters look for cause of smoke coming from parking garage in downtown Jefferson City

UPDATE 5:30 pm: Firefighters were able to determine the “smoke” was actually an odorous haze.

Officials said the building was checked and is secure.

ORIGINAL STORY: Firefighters responded to reports of smoke at a parking garage at the Double Tree Hotel in downtown Jefferson City on Monday afternoon.

Firefighters said when they responded to the scene, they found smoke coming from the garage. Crews checked the building and believed it was an electrical issue.

Officials said no sources have been found yet.
