Miller County man charged with assault, kidnapping

A man has been charged with domestic assault and kidnapping after a woman reported he abused her.

According to the probable cause statement, Cody White and a woman were arguing before he got mad and put his hands around her throat.

The woman told Miller County deputies she tried to walk away with her son in her hands but White would not let her leave.

White was accused of grabbing the victim by the throat again, taking the child, and covering the woman’s mouth to prevent her from screaming.

Deputies said the woman tried to get away again but White cut her off, dragged her across a road, pushed her into a shed and “choke slammed” her. The woman claimed she heard a loud “pop” coming from her leg.

The woman said she begged for White to take her to the hospital. White finally relented but told her to tell officials she fell chasing her son.

Deputies said pictures were taken of the victims’ leg that showed bruising to her right ankle.
