Cold end to the week, warming weekend

TONIGHT: Significantly colder air moves into Mid-Missouri as temperatures fall into the 20s, with gusty winds making it feel more like the teens by tomorrow morning. Overcast skies will stay with us through the night with snow flurries possible overnight but nothing measurable.

FRIDAY: Gusty northerly winds in the morning will produce wind chills in the teens as temperatures start off in the upper 20s. Clouds will gradually clear and winds will diminish through the day but it will stay cold. High temperatures will only reach the upper 30s to near 40.

EXTENDED: Friday night will be seasonably cold as temperatures drop into the mid 20s. The drop in temperatures will be brief as this weekend highs will rise back in the upper 40s Saturday and upper 50s to near 60 Sunday. An upper level wave moving through Saturday will increase clouds but rain chances are limited. A few showers can’t be ruled out from morning through early afternoon with the best chance south of I-70. A better chance of widespread rain moves in Sunday night through Tuesday with an active weather pattern early next week. On and off rain is expected through Tuesday night with highest rain totals for the two day event of up to 2 inches possible near I-44 and lower amounts to the north. In addition to the wet week next week, temperatures look to rebound back into the upper 60s by Monday but drop to near 40 by Wednesday.
