Frericks leads No. 13 Mizzou past Auburn on the road

The No. 13 Mizzou women’s basketball team got another road win on Thursday night. The Tigers beat Auburn, 59-51. MU is now 21-5 overall and 9-4 in the SEC.

Jordan Frericks scored a game-high 19 points and brought down eight rebounds as well. Sophie Cunningham finished with 12 points on 4-7 shooting. Amber Smith had seven points and 10 rebounds.

Mizzou led 30-16 at halftime, but Auburn was able to cut the lead down to five near the end of the third quarter. MU ultimately was able to hang on in large part due to its defense. Mizzou held Auburn to just 28 percent shooting from the field.

MU has won four games in a row. Up next, Mizzou will host No. 11 Tennessee on Sunday at 1 p.m.
