Temperatures reach towards 60 for Valentine’s Day

WEDNESDAY: It will be a mild Valentine’s Day as temperatures begin in the 40s and climb to near 60 by mid-afternoon under mostly cloudy skies. The morning commute could see some light drizzle and reduced visibility under a blanket of clouds, but by the afternoon we could see a few peeks of sunshine. It will be a bit breezy in the afternoon with southwesterly winds at 10-15 mph, gusting to 20 mph at times. The weather will stay pleasant for evening plans, only dropping to near 50 degrees by 10 PM.

TONIGHT: Temperatures tonight will rise after midnight as increasing clouds work as a blanket and winds out of the southwest pump in warmer air. Temperatures will drop to 49 by midnight, but rise into the low 50s for the morning commute. We can’t rule out light drizzle and a spot shower by tomorrow morning.

EXTENDED: We’ll have another mild, breezy day Thursday as we reach into the low to mid 60s before another cold front moves through the region. This will lead to falling temperatures late in the day, with the chance for some rain showers. Spotty showers are possible in the morning, but become more likely by the afternoon with light rainfall amounts. Under a tenth inch of rain is expected north of I-70 with up to three tenths possible near I-44. Colder air moves in Thursday night and it will be much colder by Friday morning as we start the day in the mid 20s and only reach the mid 30s for highs. The drop in temperatures will be brief as this weekend highs will rise back in the 40s and 50s under partly cloudy skies and a slight rain chance into Saturday. Temperatures early next week will remain warm with an active weather pattern as we see rain chances returning Monday into Tuesday.
