CPS officials announce new principal for Lee Expressive Arts Elementary

A spokesperson for Columbia Public Schools announced on Tuesday that Julia Coggins will be recommended to the Board of Education to become the principal at Lee Expressive Arts Elementary School for the 2018-19 school year.

Coggins has more than 15 years of experience as a classroom teacher and school administrator. She began her career in education as a fourth grade teacher at Blue Ridge Elementary School.

Coggins has been the assistant principal at Eliot Battle Elementary School for the last three years.

“Ms. Coggins will be a great leader and collaborator with the teachers, students and families to continue to implement learning through the arts at Lee Expressive Arts,” said Superintendent Peter Stiepleman.
