Columbia police arrest man accused of threatening to shoot woman

Columbia police arrested Adam Wesbury on Sunday evening after officers were dispatched to a domestic assault at Walmart in the 1200 block of Grindstone Parkway.

The investigation revealed that Wesbury and a female victim were in a verbal argument outside of their vehicle when Wesbury threatened to shoot the woman if she did not get in the car.

The victim told police that Wesbury got into the car, produced a gun, and placed it on his lap but did not point it at her.

Wesbury was accused of threatening to shoot the victim again if she did not get in the car.

Police said the victim got in the car but fled shortly after.

Officers said the gun was located in the 2000 block of Juniper Drive.

Wesbury faces possible charges of domestic assault and unlawful use of a weapon.
