Columbia police arrest man accused of harassing woman he met on dating app

UPDATE 2:50 pm: Allen has been charged with harassment.

According to the probable cause statement, Allen would call and text the victim from various numbers and would talk about “cutting her face off” and “beating her up.”

Police said Allen was also accused of threatening to have the victim arrested for a possible sexual assault.

Officers said the victim applied for and was granted an ex-parte.

ORIGINAL STORY: Columbia police arrested Briton Allen on Thursday after officers were dispatched to the 900 block of Donnelly Drive in reference to harassment.

The victim told officers that she met Allen on Tinder and that he kept sending her several text messages about threatening to harm her.

Allen was arrested and faces possible charges of harassment. He also had warrants for three traffic offenses.

Allen is currently in the Boone County Jail.
