Victim reimbursed thousands of dollars after getting scammed by Cole County contractor

One victim was reimbursed thousands of dollars by the Attorney General’s office after getting scammed by a Cole County contractor.

ABC17 previously reported that Ken Jinson was accused of stealing a total of $22,000 from four customers in Cole County.

Douglas Bledsoe, the victim, had paid Jinson to build a shed and refinish his basement to give his daughter and niece a space to live, but that never happened.

Bledsoe previously told ABC17 crews, “I’m trying to survive every day and try to still get things done for my family that I was supposed to have done with that money. Like my daughter and niece have a–they bought these two buildings here and making payments on them now. And we’re trying to fix them up as we go for a place for them to stay.”

On Friday, Bledsoe said, “This is a miracle to me, I thought I would never get the money back.”
