City of Columbia seeks input on weed ordinance

Columbia is looking to add to its weed ordinance with a public survey.

City leaders met on Thursday evening with residents to get their input over the current code.

As of now, any plant native to Missouri that is more than 12 inches high is considered a violation.

The city also wants to create a policy that requires property owners to remove plants like poison ivy and poison oak.
