Sedalia police identify man hit by train on Tuesday night

UPDATE 1/25: A spokesperson for the hospital said Ellis’ condition is still critical.

ORIGINAL STORY: Sedalia police have identified the man who was hit by a train on Tuesday night.

Officers said they responded to railroad tracks near Highway 50 and Sellers Road just before 8 p.m. for reports of a man being hit by a train while walking on the railroad tracks.

Police said 29-year-old Monty Ellis was taken to University of Missouri Hospital for his injuries. Authorities said he is currently in critical condition.
