Columbia police arrest two after officers find drugs during narcotics investigation

UPDATE 11:00 am: Anderson was charged with delivery of a controlled substance.

ORIGINAL STORY: Columbia police arrested Andre Anderson and Tara Shaw on Tuesday after officers conducted a narcotics investigation in the 2500 block of Eastwood Drive.

Police said the apartment detectives were investigating was leased to Shaw.

Officers said they saw Shaw and Anderson leave the apartment and get into a car. A traffic stop was performed and police found drugs hidden in Anderson’s pants.

Police said they also found six smaller bags with a powder that was believed to be Fentanyl and a stolen gun.

A search warrant was obtained for Shaw’s residence and officers found a small dish containing cocaine, 3 digital scales and torn baggies consistent with narcotics packaging.

Anderson faces possible charges of distribution/delivery/manufacturing/producing a controlled substance.

Shaw faces possible charges of stealing, unlawful for certain persons to possess concealed weapons, and distribution/delivery/manufacturing/producing a controlled substance.
