A brief cool down today before a nice warm up

TUESDAY: This morning we could see a few isolated and light snow showers as temperatures drop to 30. Outside of some AM snow flurries, today will be a chilly and dry day. Some slick spots are possible on the roadways for the AM commute, as temperatures will be near the freezing mark. Overcast skies will stick around through most of the day, with some late day sunshine. We’ll see highs top out near 40 degrees, with winds out of the northwest up to 18 mph, with gusts up to 20. This will create for wind chills in the 20s for the majority of this afternoon.

TONIGHT: It will be a cold night under partly cloudy skies as temperatures drop into the mid 20s by morning. Luckily the breezy conditions will subside slightly with winds out of the west from 3-5 mph. Tomorrow morning, expect wind chills in the low 20s.

EXTENDED: By Wednesday we’ll quickly see a rebound in our temperatures. Highs tomorrow afternoon will be in the mid 40s, with the upper 50s returning by the end of the work week. Windy conditions will also be present Friday, as our next system begins to take shape. Late Friday evening into Saturday morning, another cold front will track through the region and bring a slight chance of rain. Right now it looks the best chance will be along and south of Hwy 50. As the rain comes to an end, we’ll see a return to cooler conditions, with overnight lows back in the teens and 20s, with afternoon highs in the 40s.
