Man arrested after threatening woman with knife, assaulting another man

UPDATE 3:15 pm: Redden was charged with burglary, unlawful use of a weapon and assault.

ORIGINAL STORY: Columbia police arrested Brandon Redden early Friday morning after officers were dispatched to the 3600 block of Hermitage Road in reference to a disturbance.

Police said a male and female victim were inside a residence when Redden started throwing pebbles at a window.

The woman told police she started to get text messages from Redden saying he believed another man was inside the residence with her.

Redden was accused of running up stairs to the residence and punching the male victim multiple times which caused moderate swelling and bruising to his eye and cheek.

The woman also told police that while she was calling law enforcement, Redden threatened her with a pocket knife.

Redden faces possible charges of unlawful use of a weapon, burglary and assault.
