Boone County garage destroyed in fire

Fire officials are working to determine what started a fire that destroyed a garage north of Columbia Sunday afternoon.

Firefighters were called to the 3300 block of West KMJ Road around 1:30 p.m.

Residents told firefighters they were inside their home when they heard a pop.

Fire officials tell ABC 17 News the fire in the tin garage was difficult to put out because it collapsed. One firefighter was treated on scene for dehydration.

No one else was hurt.
