Columbia man indicted after he was accused of attempted murder, arson

A Columbia man was indicted by the Grand Jury on Friday after being charged with attempted murder and conspiracy to commit murder in an arson case.

ABC17 previously reported Mehrdad Fotoohighiam was accused of trying to hire hit men to kill two people, including a judge.

According to the indictment, Fotoohighiam committed arson by knowingly damaging a residence by starting a fire and placing people in danger.

Fotoohighiam will also be indicted for conspiracy to commit murder and attempted murder because he discussed payment arrangements for the murder of at least two people.

Fotoohighiam is currently in the Boone County Jail.
