Warming trend begins

TONIGHT: It will be a chilly night, but a tad warmer than the last two as low temperatures drop into the low-mid teens. Winds out of the southwest up to 13 mph will drop wind chills into the single digits by morning under clear skies.

THURSDAY: A warming trend begins as high temperatures reach near 40 under sunny skies. Southwest winds at 8-15 mph will be a bit gusty, up to 22 mph at times and will make it feel like the low 30s in the afternoon.

EXTENDED: The warming continues into the weekend with high temperatures reaching near 50 Friday, low-mid 50s Saturday and upper 50s to near 60 Sunday. We’ll have clouds moving through Saturday with a slight chance of light showers in our northwest counties but most areas will stay dry. Winds will be gusty and from the southeast Sunday as an area of low pressure moves to our north, dragging a cold front through the area by early Monday morning. This will increase rain chances through the day Sunday with a half inch of much needed rain expected. Isolated thunderstorms are also possible. As colder air moves in early Monday, there is a chance of light snow showers with little to no accumulation. Temperatures will stay in the 30s Monday, rebounding into the lower 40s by next Tuesday.
