24 more hours of below freezing temperatures

WEDNESDAY: Following a bitterly cold morning, we’ll see temperatures warm into the 20s under plenty of sunshine. Temperatures will still remain below freezing for the next 24 hours. Winds out of the southwest up to 13 mph, will keep wind chill values in the teens for the entire day.

TONIGHT: It will be a chilly night, but a tad warmer than the last two as low temperatures drop into the mid-teens. Winds out of the southwest up to 8 mph will drop wind chills into the single digits by morning under clear skies.

EXTENDED: Thanks to the Arctic high shifting to the east, we’ll continue to see our breezy winds out of the south on Thursday. This will give way to a very nice warming trend as we head into the weekend. Highs top out in the 40s both Thursday and Friday with windy conditions expected, ahead of our next system that will begin to take shape and arrive by next week. Saturday looks to be the warmest day of the next 7, with highs topping out in the mid to upper 50s. At the start of next week, our next system will sweep through Mid-Missouri and bring some much needed rain. Rain will spread from west to east on Sunday bringing light rainfall with a few pockets to moderate to heavy rain. Most of mid-Missouri looks to receive up to .50″. There is a slight chance we could see a few flurries into Monday, but overall it’s looking like we’ll see a mainly rain event.
