Crews treat roads as temperatures fall below freezing

A break from the rain Thursday afternoon allowed mid-Missouri road crews to begin treating roads as temperatures dropped below freezing.

Officials with MoDOT and Boone County Public Works said crews treated roads from about 11 to 3 p.m. Columbia Public Works crews hit the streets around 12:30 p.m.

Crews plan to continue monitoring the road conditions through the late evening hours.

ABC 17 News will continue to check in with the departments as crews monitor road conditions Thursday evening.
