LAKE OZARK, Mo. (KMIZ)

Seven people had to be rescued Friday morning after a dock had broken free and was drifting with people on it at the 13.5-mile marker of the Niangua Arm of Lake of the Ozarks.

The Mid-County Fire Protection District firefighters found the dock on Rock Dove Lane that was secure in its original location but the ramp to the dock had collapsed into the lake.

Officials say firefighters shut the electric power off to the dock and then made multiple trips with a fire department boat to remove the adults safely from the dock.

There were no injuries reported with this incident.

All firefighters cleared the fire scene at approximately 7:55 AM.
