Deputies arrest man accused of trying to flush large amount of methamphetamine down toilet

Miller County deputies arrested Travis Simmons after officers served a narcotics search warrant at the Osage Ridge apartment complex.

Deputies said when they entered the residence, a struggle began between officers and Simmons, who was trying to flush a large bag of suspected methamphetamine down the toilet.

Officers said no one was injured and all evidence was recovered.

Deputies found a large amount of suspected methamphetamine, marijuana and items used in the distribution of drugs.

Officers said Simmons is currently on parole for burglary and stealing.

Simmons is in the Miller County Jail and faces possible charges of delivery or distribution of a controlled substance, resisting arrest and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He currently has a bond of $150,000.
