Troopers arrest driver after Callaway County crash

The Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested a driver on suspicion of multiple charges after a crash caused serious injuries early Sunday.

It happened around 12:15 Sunday morning in Callway County on County Road 328, just east of County Road 337, according to the crash report.

Michael Maggard, 25, drove off the left side of the road and hit a mailbox, culvert, utility pole and fence, the report said.

Emergency crews transported one of the two other passengers in the car, 23-year-old Ryan Maggard, to the hospital with serious injuries.

Michael Maggard was arrested later in the day for on suspicion of several charges including felony assault, speeding 26 miles over the posted speed limit, failure to stop for a stop sign and a repeat offense for driving while suspended.
