Sophie Cunningham day-to-day with knee sprain

According to an MU spokesperson, Mizzou guard Sophie Cunningham is day-to-day with a sprain to her right knee.

Cunningham suffered the injury during the 4th quarter of Mizzou’s game against Alabama Sunday, Dec. 31. Cunningham left the game, but returned behind the bench on her own power. She was able to walk despite a noticeable limp.

The team did an MRI upon returning to Columbia. However, a team spokesperson said the team was uncertain still as to what the exact diagnosis was.

Cunningham later tweeted the same information to confirm it. She said she hoped it was not serious.

(15) Mizzou plays LSU Thursday at 7 p.m. There is no indication whether or not Cunningham will play that game.

So far this season, Cunningham leads the team with 18.2 points per game. She is shooting a career-high 50 percent from three while also shooting 58 percent from the field.
