Columbia police arrest man accused of endangering the welfare of a child

Columbia police arrested Antonio Ingram on Thursday evening after officers were dispatched to a disturbance in the 200 block of Old 63 South.

A female victim told police that that she was upset that Ingram told her she was an unfit mother and handed her baby to Ingram.

Police said the victim picked up her daughter and Ingram started punching her several times with a closed fist. The victim said she had to cover her baby so she would not get hit.

Officers said they noticed red swelling behind the victim’s ear.

Ingram faces possible charges of domestic assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
