Leaders in Columbia discuss sewer rehabilitation
Columbia’s Sewer Utility held a meeting Thursday evening to hear from people on the city’s sanitary sewer main and manhole rehabilitation project.
The proposed improvements include repairs to approximately 55,000 feet of sewer line, 275 manholes and 300 lateral connections. The cost is estimated to exceed $2.5 million.
City leaders tell ABC 17 News the work is designed to keep storm water from leaking into the city’s sewer system.
They hope to start the project sometime in the spring.
