Man charged with fifth DWI in Callaway County

A Callaway County man with four prior DWI convictions was arrested and charged for the fifth time this week.

According to the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the 1600 block of State Road WW near Millersburg Tuesday night for reports of property damage.

A resident said Johnny Beaston caused the damage with his vehicle.

Beaston appeared to be intoxicated, according to a deputy on the scene. He also made verbal threats and struggled with law enforcement before being taken into custody and jailed.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, Beaston had four prior DWI convictions between 2006 and 2015.

On Wednesday, Beaston was charged with DWI, driving while revoked and resisting arrest.

At the time of Tuesday’s offense, Beaston was under supervised probation for a 2015 persistent DWI offender charge and had violated the probation in October.
