Highway patrol’s Troop F sees 77 crashes, 13 injuries during holiday counting period
The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Troop F released its holiday counting period numbers Tuesday.
The period lasted from 6 p.m. Friday through 11:59 p.m. Christmas.
No one was killed, but 13 people were injured.
There were 77 crashes throughout the weekend with 57 happening Christmas Eve.
Troopers also arrested 10 people for driving while impaired and eight people for drugs during the counting period.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol said five people lost their lives to deadly crashes across the state over the holiday weekend.
Troop F covers Audrain, Boone, Callaway, Camden, Cole, Cooper, Gasconade, Howard, Miller, Moniteau, Montgomery, Morgan and Osage counties.
So far, this year Troop F has seen a 33 percent decrease in roadway deaths compared to this time last year.
