Camden County deputies give post-holiday safety tips

Camden County deputies announced Tuesday that residents should still take precautions against burglars even after the holidays are over.

Deputies ask residents to not pile empty gift boxes on the curb. Officers say residents should break down the boxes or cut them up to conceal them better.

Deputies said residents also can take the cardboard boxes to a local cardboard recycling center to avoid becoming a target.

Officers also said residents should take the time to take down serial numbers and take pictures of new items in case they are stolen. Taking inventory can help law enforcement identify the items in their investigation easier and it helps insurance companies file claims easier.
