Driver hurt on Hwy. 63 north of Columbia

A sergeant with the Missouri State Highway Patrol tells ABC 17 News two cars were headed southbound on Highway 63 Christmas night when one car got side-swiped by another vehicle trying to pass it.

The passing car ended up crossing over to the northbound lanes and went into a ditch. That driver went to hospital with minor injuries. ABC 17 News was told the other driver and passenger in the side-swiped car were not seriously hurt.

It happened around 9:40 p.m. Monday night at Peabody Road near Dripping Springs Road about 15 minutes north of Columbia in Boone County.

Troopers are handling investigation.
