Shed fire damages nearby Jefferson City home
A shed fire prompted a response from the Jefferson City Fire Department Tuesday morning.
It happened just after midnight in the 100 block of West Circle Drive
“Fire department units arrived to find a detached shed fully involved in fire,” said Asst. Chief M. Jay Niemeyer. “Fire from the shed was spreading to the nearby house. All residents had exited the house prior to the fire department’s arrival. Units quickly extinguished the fire in the shed and kept the fire from extending into the nearby house.”
Crews investigated for about two and a half hours to make sure the fire was extinguished.
The response involved four fire trucks.
Minimal damage was done to the house, according to responders, but the shed was a total loss.
The fire remains under investigation.
