Jefferson City school board discusses high school renovations

The Jefferson City Public School Board continues to work on renovations for its current high school.

At Monday night’s meeting board members were presented with plans for the school.

The district said it wants to renovate every part of the school.

A manager for DLR Group, which is responsible for the renovations, said, “We want to touch every space in the existing building, renovate every area, to some degree. And we’re updating to try collaborative, updated learning spaces in the entire school.”

Sometime in January, school district leaders are expected to release the name of the city’s second high school.

Nearly 6,000 people voted on the name of that new school.
