Autopsy ordered after inmate dies at the Jefferson City Correctional Center

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

An autopsy will be done on an inmate who died at a prison in Jefferson City.

The Department of Corrections says that 34-year-old Cawon Midgyett was pronounced dead at the Jefferson City Correctional Center around two Tuesday afternoon.

He was serving a seven-year sentence on drug and domestic assault charges.

He had been in the Department of Corrections since September 2016.
