Man sentenced to 24 years in prison after jury finds him guilty of forgery
Maries County deputies confirmed on Monday that David Rector, 43, was sentenced to 24 years in prison.
On Oct. 18, a jury found Rector guilty on all four felony county of forgery. Rector was accused of deceiving several local businesses in Highgate, Belle and Vienna out of hundreds of dollars.
Rector was sentenced to six years per count to run consecutively for a total of 24 years.
Authorities said prior to the trial, Rector was offered a plea deal. However, prosecutor Terry Schawrtz took the plea agreement off the table because Rector had wasted so much time and resources for the county.
