Mizzou baseball captures series win in walkoff fashion

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Mizzou baseball team secured a series win over Mississippi State on Sunday, courtesy of a walkoff home run from shortstop Josh Day in the bottom of the ninth inning.

The home run was Day's seventh of the season and his first since April 1. Big day at the plate for multiple Tigers though, as Luke Mann finished 3-for-4 with one home run and Ty Wilmsmeyer put up a three-run shot, as well.

Ian Lohse earned the win for Mizzou on the hill. He pitched about two innings of shoutout relief.

The win marks MU's third-consecutive home series victory.

Up next - Mizzou will host Southeast Missouri State on Tuesday at Taylor Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
