Man arrested for domestic assault, accused of beating woman, breaking her cellphone

Columbia police arrested Pierre Alford after a female victim reported she had been assaulted by him in the 1600 block of Sylvan Lane.

The victim told police she was using Alford’s phone when he received a text message from another female.

The victim said she told Alford to leave the residence and he became upset . Alford punched her multiple times in the faces with a closed fist causing her nose and lip to bleed, police said.

The victim also accused Alford of kicking her in the ribs while she was down on the ground, officers said.

Police said when the victim went to grab her phone to call 911 Alford grabbed it and threw it against the wall, causing it to break.

The victim said she went to the hospital.

Police said they could not find Alford and contacted the victim. The victim told officers that Alford had assaulted her again and then took her vehicle.

Alford was found and was arrested. He faces possible charges of domestic assault, stealing and tampering.
