Boone County deputies arrest man on probation, accused of having 75 grams of heroin, guns

Boone County deputies arrested Vernon Jordan on Wednesday after officers with the United States Probation and Pretrial Services Office executed a search warrant on Jordan’s residence.

According to the probable cause statement, Jordan is currently on probation for being a felon in possession of a gun.

Deputies said when they were speaking with Jordan, he asked for a jacket. Officers searched the jacket before giving it to Jordan and found approximately 25 grams of heroin and $888 in cash.

When officers searched the master bedroom they found a gun, a box of ammunition, and two additional quantities of heroin that each weighed approximately 25 grams.

Deputies said they found another handgun in a different part of the bedroom.

According to the probable cause statement, Jordan previously pleaded guilty to resisting arrest and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Jordan was charged on Wednesday with drug trafficking or attempt, unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful use of a weapon.
