Jefferson City woman files lawsuit against Josh Hawley over his residence

Jefferson City resident, Donna Mueller, has petitioned the Cole County Circuit Court for a preliminary and permanent writ of mandamus against Attorney General Josh Hawley.

The petition is for Hawley to establish residence in Jefferson City.

In the petition, Mueller writes that in August, Hawley voted in a special election held in Boone County where he is registered to vote.

The petition states that the Boone County clerk made a legal determination that Hawley was and continues to be a valid and legal resident of Boone.

Mueller and her attorneys said Hawley is required to reside “at the seat of government” in Jefferson City.

The petition for Writ of Mandamus would require Hawley to establish residence in Jefferson City or resign from office.
