Jefferson City police ask for public’s help in finding two missing teens possibly in danger
UPDATE 11/15: Jefferson City police posted a picture of the stolen vehicle on social media.
Officers have no other updates at this time.
UPDATE 4:45 pm: Captain Doug Shoemaker with the Jefferson City Police Department talked with ABC17 and said the car stolen was Gore’s mom’s vehicle.
Shoemaker said officers are concerned because they believe their disappearance was a well-thought out plan.
Police are unsure where the teens are headed but there is a strong possibility the teens are traveling far but there is also a strong possibility they are staying close, Shoemaker said.
ORIGINAL STORY: Jefferson City police reported on Tuesday that officers are investigating the disappearance of two teens that were last seen Monday evening.
Police said Zachary Johnson, 15, and Lilly Gore, 17, were both reported missing by family members and are believed to be together.
Officers said the teens are students at Jefferson City High School.
Police said they are believed to be in a 2005 green Jeep Liberty, that has a Missouri license plate of FP8D1J, which is now reported stolen.
Officers said they are not sure why both teens are missing but there is a possibility that they could be in danger.
Police ask anyone who knows information about the teens to call the department at (573) 634-6400 immediately.
