Cool and damp Tuesday for Mid-Missouri

TUESDAY: It’s been a wet start to Tuesday, as drizzle and light rain continue to falla cross Mid-Missouri. Most of the activity is situated west of Hwy 63, but as high pressure to our east tracks out of the region, the drizzle/light rain should track to the west. Overcast skies will continue to remain in the forecast, keeping temperatures in the upper 40s and lower 50s today. Winds will remain out of the south up to 13 mph.

TONIGHT: A cold front is set to slowly track through the region Tuesday night into Wednesday, where we will see the drizzle become light rain and isolated thunderstorms. Less than .15″ of rain is possible as the line of showers with embedded thunderstorms track through the region. Despite the passage of the cold front, with the overcast skies in place, we’ll see lows bottom out in the upper 40s and lower 50s.

EXTENDED: Rain tapers off later Wednesday morning and clouds will gradually break up to partly cloudy skies as high temperatures reach near 60. Winds will shift out of the west under 13 mph, delaying the cooler weather until Wednesday night into Thursday. By Thursday night a warm front will lift through Mid-Missouri aiding in warming temperatures through the night. This will lead to highs in the mid to upper 60s for highs Friday, with the potential for some gusty winds. Through the day Friday, a cold front will track through Mid-Missouri giving way to more showers and cooler conditions. Colder air moves in behind the front, leaving us with a cool weekend with high temperatures only in the upper 40s to lower 50s and nights dipping into the upper 20s to lower 30s, with plenty of sunshine.
