Monday evening crashes cause highway delays

Columbia police responded to two highway crashes on Monday evening.

Police said officers responded to the area of I-70 east and Rangeline Street for a single-car crash. Officers said a car struck a Jersey barrier, and the passing lane on eastbound I-70 was temporarily shut down.

Police said an accident investigation is pending.

Less than an hour later, police responded to the area of Highway 63 North and the connector in reference to a multi-vehicle collision.

Police said the crash was due to a rear-end collision.
