Mizzou hoops crushes Wagner without Porter Jr.
The Mizzou men’s basketball team crushed Wagner on Monday night, 99-55, despite playing without Michael Porter Jr. Mizzou is now 2-0 on the season.
The former Tolton star is day-to-day with a leg injury. Michael Porter Jr. watched the game from the locker room. A team spokesman said the freshman did not sit on the bench with his team because it was easier on his leg to watch from the locker room.
Mizzou basketball coach Cuonzo Martin addressed Porter Jr.’s injury after the game:
The Tigers did not skip a beat without Porter Jr. Mizzou shot 68 percent from the field. The Tigers were 12-22 from three point range (54 percent).
Kassius Robertson led the way for the Tigers with 23 points. Jontay Porter had 11 points, eight rebounds and four assists. Senior Jordan Barnett had 13 points, including two huge dunks.

Mizzou freshman point guard Blake Harris went down hard and appeared to injure his left knee on a layup late in the first half. He did not return to the game.
