Mizzou runs all over Tennessee on senior night, wins fourth straight

The Mizzou football team beat Tennessee 50-17 on senior night. The Tigers have now won four games in a row. MU moves to 5-5 and 2-4 in the SEC.

Mizzou rushed for 433 yards. Ish Witter carried the ball 24 times for 216 yards and a touchdown on his senior night. He now has more than 2,000 career rushing yards at MU. Freshman Larry Rountree had 155 yards on 18 carries and a touchdown.

Quarterback Drew Lock threw for 217 yards and four touchdowns. He completed 13-28 of his passes. He now has 35 touchdown passes this season, which is four away from Chase Daniel’s single season record, 39. Daniel set that record back in 2008.

Senior wide receiver J’Mon Moore caught three passes for 39 yards and a touchdown. Wide out Emanuel Hall had a team high 102 yards receiving and a score.

Mizzou won the turnover margin for the second straight game. Senior Anthony Sherrils and junior Kaleb Prewett both had interceptions in the third quarter. Sherrils also had a fumble recovery in the fourth quarter. It’s the second straight game Sherrils has had an interception and a fumble recover.

The Tigers defense had five sacks and nine tackles for loss. Senior defensive end Marcell Frazier accounted for two of those sacks.

Mizzou is just the third SEC team to ever lose five straight games and also win four straight games in a single season.

Next Saturday, the Tigers travel to Nashville, TN to take on Vanderbilt. Kickoff is at 6:30 p.m. from Vanderbilt Stadium.
