UPDATE: Police arrest two after gunshot victim shows up at hospital
UPDATE 11/10: Police said the victim was a 17-year-old woman who had a non-life threatening gunshot wound.
The investigation revealed the shooting happened in the 1000 block of Southpark Drive.
Officers said the victim was taken to the hospital in a personal vehicle and multiple people who arrived at the hospital with the victim were detained for questioning.
Deondray West, 18, refused to follow officers’ orders and attempted to push past police after being detained. Police said a struggle ensued and West kicked and struck two officers several times. West was arrested and faces possible charges of assault and resisting arrest.
Roderick Kemp,18, was also detained. He attempted to pull away from officers as he was being escorted out of the hospital. Kemp was arrested and faces possible charges of resisting arrest.
Officers also said a juvenile boy, 14, was also taken into custody for assault and resisting arrest.
Police said there have been no arrests made as of Friday afternoon connected to the victim getting the gunshot wound.
Officers said the investigation is on-going.
ORIGINAL: An investigation is underway after a gunshot victim was taken to a hospital in Columbia Thursday night.
According to the Columbia Police Department, a woman arrived at the hospital with a gunshot wound around 8:01 p.m.
Investigators said the woman had received the non-life threatening injury before her arrival at the hospital.
Right now, it’s unclear which hospital the woman was taken to in Columbia.
Police told ABC 17 News several people have been taken into custody for questioning.
The University of Missouri Police Department is also helping CPD officers and detectives investigate how the woman was shot.
ABC 17 News will update this story once police share more information about this on-going investigation.
