Marine Corps veteran to run for Boone County Presiding Commissioner

David Seamon, 28, a Marine Corps veteran and long-time resident of Columbia, announced on Wednesday his candidacy for Boone County presiding commissioner.

Seamon is a South Carolina native and has been a resident of Columbia since 2004.

Seamon does not believe his age would be a detriment, saying, “If you’re discounting someone because of their age, you’re going to miss a potential of wealth of ideas and experiences.”

Seamon will run as a Democrat and will formally announce his candidacy on Thursday.
