Jefferson City firefighters respond to house fire on Southwest Boulevard

UPDATE: Fire crews are working to determine what caused a fire in Jefferson City Tuesday night.

It happened at a home in the 1100 block of Southwest Boulevard around 7:45 p.m.

The Jefferson City Fire Department told ABC 17 News the house was occupied when the fire began, but everyone made it outside safely.

The road was briefly closed while fire crews responded to the scene.

Most of the fire was contained to the attic.

ABC 17 News is told the American Red Cross will be assisting the residents.

Editor’s Note: An earlier version of this story stated the fire happened in the 1200 block. The fire department said it actually happened in the 1100 block. The story has been corrected.
