Camden County deputies arrest two accused of unlawfully entering more than 200 cars

Camden County deputies arrested Austin Tabor and Philip Wayne Carter after officers were dispatched to a disturbance at a residence on Lake Park.

Deputies said the owner of a vehicle discovered that Tabor had unlawfully entered the car and was stealing property found within.

Carter was an accomplice in the attempted theft, deputies said.

Officers said the men admitted that they had unlawfully entered over 200 vehicles.

Tabor was charged with possession of marijuana and multiple counts of stealing.

Carter was charged with stealing, receiving stolen property and stealing.

Deputies said the Sheriff’s Office has taken approximately 61 burglary reports, 122 stealing reports, multiple vehicle tampering reports and 18 vehicle theft reports since August.

The majority of the burglaries have occurred in the Climax Springs and Edwards communities in Camden County.
