Some Missouri prisoners convicted of murder as juveniles sue Missouri’s Corrections Department
Missouri prisoners convicted of murder as juveniles and sentenced to life behind bars without parole are suing the state’s Corrections Department.
The Roderick and Solange MacArthur Justice Center, the center suing on behalf of prisoners, announced on Monday a federal judge had ruled they can go forward with the lawsuit.
The center said the prisoners are not getting a meaningful chance at parole despite a new law requiring the opportunity for parole.
Attorney General Josh Hawley is representing the Department of Corrections.
