Elon Musk, the billionaire owner of Tesla and SpaceX, sealed a deal Monday to buy social media giant Twitter for $44 billion.

Musk has been critical of Twitter, saying the platform restricts free speech. Twitter kicked former president Donald Trump off the platform and has drawn fire for how it enforces its community standards.
