CPD investigating after man sent to hospital with gunshot wound

UPDATE: 8:45 a.m.: Columbia police have told ABC 17 they determined this to be an accidental, self-inflicted gun shot wound. No foul play is suspected.

ORIGINAL STORY: Emergency responders were called to the 1100 block of Kennesaw Ridge Road Friday night for reports of a gunshot wound victim.

Sgt. Clint Sinclair said one man was taken to the hospital in an ambulance around 9:30 p.m.

Sinclair said the investigation is ongoing, but don’t believe there is any threat to the area.
